Autumn Cranberry Orange Baked Brie

  • Author: Natalia
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A cozy, budget-friendly solo dinner featuring a wedge of baked brie topped with cranberry sauce, orange zest, and nuts. Ready in 20 minutes for under $5.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz wedge of Brie cheese (store brand)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 1 can (14 oz) whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 medium orange (zest and juice)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons walnuts or pecans, chopped
  • Crackers or bread for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Take the brie out of the fridge and let it sit for 15 minutes to reach room temperature.
  3. Score the top of the brie in a crosshatch pattern with a knife, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, orange zest, and chopped nuts until combined.
  5. Place the brie in a 6-8 oz ramekin.
  6. Spread the butter-nut mixture evenly over the top of the cheese, pressing it into the scores.
  7. Spoon a generous layer of cranberry sauce over the cheese.
  8. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of fresh orange juice over the top.
  9. Place the ramekin on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, until the cheese is soft and bubbling.
  10. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving immediately with crackers or bread.

Notes

Do not overbake or the cheese will separate and become oily. If you want a crunchier top, broil for the last 1-2 minutes while watching closely. Leftover cranberry sauce can be frozen for up to 6 months. Do not freeze the baked brie as the cheese will separate.
