Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 package (3.4 oz / 96g) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups (480ml) milk (whole or 2%)
- 3 medium bananas, sliced
- 1 ½ cups (about 150g) vanilla wafers, crushed
- 5 tablespoons (70g) unsalted butter, melted
- Optional: 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Crush vanilla wafers until fine crumbs with some texture. Mix with melted butter until evenly coated.
- Press the crust mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×9-inch baking dish or springform pan. Refrigerate while preparing filling.
- Beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Whisk in instant vanilla pudding mix.
- Gradually add milk, mixing until slightly thickened (2-3 minutes). Stir in vanilla extract if using.
- Slice bananas and arrange half over chilled crust.
- Spread half of the cheesecake pudding mixture over bananas.
- Repeat with remaining banana slices and cheesecake mixture. Smooth the top.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.
- Before serving, optionally garnish with crushed vanilla wafers or banana slices. Serve chilled.
Notes
Use ripe but firm bananas to avoid mushiness. Do not skip chilling time for proper setting. Softened cream cheese is key for smooth texture. Press crust firmly to prevent crumbling. Make ahead for best flavor. Optional vanilla extract enhances flavor.
