Description
Extra-crispy air fryer Brussels sprouts tossed in olive oil and spices, finished with a sticky, spicy hot honey drizzle. A fast, healthy, and flavorful side dish ready in 20 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Trim the woody stem ends off the Brussels sprouts and peel off any damaged outer leaves. Cut each sprout in half lengthwise.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the sprouts with olive oil, kosher salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika until evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange the sprouts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Cook for 15-18 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes, until charred at the edges and tender inside.
- While the sprouts cook, combine honey, red pepper flakes, balsamic vinegar, and garlic powder in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30-45 seconds until warm and runny, then stir well.
- Transfer the cooked sprouts to a serving platter and drizzle the warm hot honey mixture generously over the top. Serve immediately.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness; cook in batches if necessary. Warm the honey slightly before drizzling so it adheres better to the sprouts. For a vegan version, substitute honey with agave nectar or maple syrup.
