Description
A refreshing, slushy frozen margarita featuring sweet mango, sharp lime, and a spicy chili-lime rim. This easy-to-batch cocktail is perfect for parties and summer gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups (300g) frozen mango chunks
- 2 cups (480ml) 100% agave blanco tequila
- ½ cup (120ml) fresh lime juice
- ¼ cup (60ml) triple sec or Cointreau
- 2–3 tablespoons agave nectar or simple syrup (optional)
- 1 cup (120g) ice (only if mango isn’t frozen solid)
- 1 lime, cut into wedges (for rimming)
- 2 tablespoons white granulated sugar (for rim)
- 1 teaspoon chili powder (for rim)
- ½ teaspoon salt (for rim, if not using Tajín)
Instructions
- Prep the glasses: Rub lime wedges around the rim of each glass to moisten. Dip the wet rim into a mixture of sugar, chili powder, and salt (or Tajín) to coat. Set aside.
- Combine ingredients: Add frozen mango chunks, tequila, fresh lime juice, triple sec, and agave nectar to a high-speed blender. Add ice if needed.
- Blend: Start on low speed and gradually increase to high. Blend for 30-60 seconds until smooth and slushy. Scrape down sides if necessary.
- Taste and adjust: Taste the mixture. Add more lime for tartness or agave for sweetness as desired.
- Serve: Pour into prepared glasses. Garnish with a mango slice, lime wheel, or mint sprig. Serve immediately.
Notes
Use frozen mango chunks for the best slushy texture without dilution. Fresh lime juice is essential for bright flavor. The drink is best served immediately but can be frozen for up to 24 hours and re-blended. For a mocktail version, omit tequila and triple sec, adding extra lime and orange juice.
