Honey Sriracha Glazed Meatballs

  • Author: Natalia
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

Sticky, sweet, and spicy meatballs glazed with a honey Sriracha sauce that balances heat and sweetness perfectly. Quick and easy to make using frozen or homemade meatballs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 small frozen or fresh meatballs (about 1.5 pounds / 680g)
  • ⅓ cup honey (113g)
  • ¼ cup Sriracha (60ml)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (45ml)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (15ml)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (about 1 teaspoon)
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger (about 2 grams) – optional
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (5ml)
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes – optional
  • 2 green onions, sliced thinly
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds – optional

Instructions

  1. Heat the meatballs (8-10 minutes): If using frozen, heat through according to package instructions in a skillet with a splash of water or in the oven. If homemade, cook fully until browned and cooked through. Set aside once heated.
  2. Whisk together the glaze (2 minutes): In a small bowl, combine honey, Sriracha, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk until smooth.
  3. Simmer the glaze (3-4 minutes): Heat a skillet over medium heat and pour in the glaze mixture. Let it simmer gently, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly and becomes syrupy.
  4. Toss the meatballs in the glaze (2 minutes): Add the heated meatballs to the skillet and toss to coat evenly. Turn heat to low and cook for another 2 minutes to let the glaze cling and caramelize.
  5. Garnish and serve (1 minute): Transfer glazed meatballs to a serving dish. Sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately warm.

Notes

If glaze gets too thick, add a splash of water to loosen. Simmer longer on low heat for extra sticky glaze but watch to avoid burning. Use frozen meatballs for convenience. Fresh garlic and ginger are preferred for best flavor. Glaze can be made ahead and stored in fridge up to 3 days. Reheat gently with splash of water.
