Description
A soothing iced latte featuring floral lavender syrup and natural honey sweetness, layered with creamy milk or cream for a quick, comforting pick-me-up perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 2 shots espresso or about 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee (60ml)
- 2 tablespoons lavender syrup (30ml)
- 1 tablespoon honey (15ml)
- 1/2 cup cold milk or cream (120ml), preferably half-and-half
- Ice cubes
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: edible lavender buds for garnish
Instructions
- Brew two shots of espresso or about 1/2 cup of very strong coffee. Pour into a tall glass immediately.
- Add 2 tablespoons lavender syrup and 1 tablespoon honey to the hot coffee. Stir well to combine. Warm syrup and honey slightly if coffee has cooled.
- Fill the glass with ice cubes to the top.
- Slowly pour cold milk or half-and-half over the back of a spoon held just above the ice to create creamy layers. Optionally, froth the cream first for a silky texture.
- Garnish with edible lavender buds or a light dusting of cinnamon if desired. Stir before drinking or enjoy layered.
Notes
Use fresh espresso or strong coffee for best flavor. Make your own lavender syrup by simmering equal parts water and sugar with dried lavender buds for 10 minutes. Pour cream slowly over the back of a spoon to maintain layers. Keep all ingredients chilled for best layering effect. Substitute honey with maple syrup and cream with oat or almond milk for a vegan version.
