Description
A simple, creamy, and refreshing iced coffee drink combining espresso, brown sugar, vanilla extract, milk, and ice for a perfect balance of sweet and warm flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 shots (about 60ml) espresso or strong brewed coffee
- 2 tablespoons (25g) brown sugar (dark or light)
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1 cup (240ml) milk or milk alternative (whole milk, oat milk, almond milk, or coconut milk)
- Ice cubes as needed
- Optional: pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for garnish
- Optional: drizzle of caramel sauce for garnish
Instructions
- Brew two shots of espresso or ½ cup of very strong coffee.
- In a small bowl or cup, combine brown sugar with 2 tablespoons of hot water and stir until dissolved. Add vanilla extract and stir to combine.
- Fill a glass or travel mug with plenty of ice.
- Pour the hot espresso over the ice, add the brown sugar vanilla syrup, then pour in the milk of choice. Stir gently to combine.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or vanilla as desired by adding more syrup or vanilla extract. Add more milk or ice if needed.
- Optionally, garnish with a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg, or drizzle caramel sauce on top.
Notes
Make extra brown sugar syrup ahead and store in the fridge for up to 7 days. Use hot water to dissolve brown sugar fully. Use strong coffee or espresso to avoid watery latte. Optionally froth milk for a fancy touch. Can be made dairy-free with plant-based milk alternatives.
