Description
A quick and easy 3-ingredient party snack made with refrigerated pretzel dough, butter, and cinnamon sugar. These sweet, chewy bites are perfect for autumn gatherings and take less than 20 minutes to prepare.
Ingredients
- 1 tube (12-14 oz / 340-390g) refrigerated pretzel dough
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C) or oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Take pretzel dough out of the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for 5 minutes. Separate into 1-inch balls (approx. 20-24 bites).
- Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or saucepan. Let it cool slightly so it is warm but not hot.
- In a shallow bowl or pie plate, mix the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt until evenly combined.
- Drop a dough ball into the melted butter, rolling to coat completely. Then, drop it into the cinnamon sugar mixture, rolling to coat evenly. Place on a clean plate.
- Repeat with all dough balls.
- For Air Fryer: Place coated dough balls in the basket in a single layer (do not overcrowd). Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and puffy.
- For Oven: Place coated dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between each. Bake for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
- Let cool for 2-3 minutes on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
Ensure the butter is warm but not hot to avoid cooking the dough prematurely. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket or baking sheet to ensure even cooking and a fluffy texture. For extra crunch, you can double-dip the dough in butter and sugar. These taste best warm but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer.
