Description
A quick and healthy 30-minute weeknight dinner featuring salmon fillets and broccoli roasted on a single sheet pan with a sticky honey garlic glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 to 2 pounds salmon fillets (center-cut)
- 2 large heads broccoli (about 600g), cut into florets
- 1/3 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 stalks green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large half-sheet pan (13×18 inches) with parchment paper or foil.
- Wash and thoroughly dry broccoli florets. Spread them in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet to ensure roasting rather than steaming.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes until smooth.
- Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on the baking sheet next to the broccoli.
- Brush half of the honey garlic sauce generously over the salmon fillets. Drizzle the remaining sauce over the broccoli and toss to coat evenly.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is opaque throughout, and broccoli is tender-crisp with charred edges.
- Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
Notes
Ensure broccoli is dry before roasting to prevent steaming. Do not overcrowd the pan; use a large pan or cook in batches if necessary. Pat salmon dry before adding sauce to help it caramelize. For a gluten-free version, substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
