Description
A rich, creamy, and decadent chocolate mousse made with ripe avocados, cocoa powder, and maple syrup. This no-bake dessert is vegan, gluten-free, and ready in just minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large ripe avocados (about 400g flesh)
- 1/2 cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup (60ml) maple syrup
- 2–3 tablespoons (30-45ml) almond milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt (for topping)
- 1/2 teaspoon espresso powder (optional)
Instructions
- Wash avocados, cut in half, remove pits, and scoop the flesh into a high-speed blender.
- Add maple syrup, almond milk, vanilla extract, and espresso powder (if using) to the blender.
- Blend on low, gradually increasing to high, for 3-5 minutes until the mixture is completely smooth and silky with no lumps.
- Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness or thickness by adding more maple syrup or almond milk as needed.
- Transfer the mousse into serving dishes and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Before serving, sprinkle with flaky sea salt and top with coconut whipped cream or chocolate chips if desired.
Notes
Ensure avocados are very ripe for the creamiest texture. Blend for a full 3-5 minutes to break down avocado fibers completely. Do not freeze as the texture may become grainy upon thawing. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
